This suit was initiated in the light of the proposal received from the office of the District Sub-Registrar, Pakur through letter no. 77/Ni., dated 11.03.2025 and letter no. 120/Ni., dated 22.03.2025 for recovery of outstanding deficiency stamp duty of Rs. 6,10,875.13 and registration fee of Rs. 4,58,156.35 in respect of erroneous valuation done by the Sub-Registrar, Pakur in the registered document no. 4397, dated 12.10.2015 submitted by the opponent in the course of registration. In the light of the proposal received, the said suit was instituted and notice was issued to the opponent to present his side. The opponent has appeared in the court and submitted a copy of the online e-challan of Rs. 6,10,876.00 deposited in lieu of deficiency stamp duty and a copy of the online payment receipt of Rs. 4,58,157.00 deposited in lieu of deficiency registration fee and requested to end the proceedings of the case. The record was examined. The defendant has deposited the outstanding stamp duty and registration fee, and the District Sub-Registrar, Pakur, present, confirmed the defendant's statement. Since the defendant has deposited the outstanding stamp duty and registration fee in the said suit, there appears to be no justification for continuing the proceedings initiated against the defendant.
